Yaad kar woh Din...

This little beauty is dated almost 4 years back to my days as a young copywriter in leading hyd ad agency... I had sent this to my boss when we had a roach infestation so bad that i felt i was in Joe's Apartment.
Read and enjoy! Agency Name has been removed to prevent embarrassment. I do have a heart apparently.

Cockroaches... monkeying around [ad agency name]!

When conjuring up images of [ad agency], one might think of an exciting work atmosphere, beautiful creative ads, laidback account executives [wink] and most importantly hard-working creative dudes [double wink]. Pessimists might talk of the strident and extremely voluble MVR… no, wait I meant Optimists, err... lets leave that story for another day shall we? What about the lowly cockroach?

These bad boys are ubiquitous here in [ad agency]. Myth might suggest that they live in dirty places but in actuality, they are quite simply just everywhere. So even if you might have a clean [ad agency], you shall simply have clean cockroaches. The point is that you can’t escape the inevitable: cockroaches are taking over [ad agency]!!

Ok, so that’s a little excessive, but the damned things are so gross. But why are they so gross? Are we cultured into thinking them as gross? Have we given the cockroach an undeserved rap? [okay, like a geek I’m planning studies in my head to examine attitudes towards cockroaches].

Let’s take a closer look: they can overcome incredible odds, and apparently can even survive nuclear radiation from an atomic blast. They can go innumerable days without eating, and will eat just about anything. They are adaptive and cunning, and reproduce like mad. They are amazing little critters.

So maybe we are too excessive about this. Maybe our religious puja cleansing and incessant spray of HIT is overkill. Maybe cockroaches deserve a place in [ad agency]? Will Amala, in the future, stand in front of [ad agency] & chant ‘Save the CockRoaches! Give them jobs!!’?

But seriously, these little nasties are inspiring us. I can think of so many roach games to play – 'Hide & Seek', 'Count the Roaches' and my favorite, 'Roach Squash'. But we feel such extra-curriculum is hindering our work.

So LET’S KILL ALL INSECTS at [ad agency]... Including the human kind!
